Thora Frost
Associate Director @The Carbon Trust
Thora is an economist with over 15 years of experience in both the public and private sector, with a broad ranging skillset. Thora joined the Carbon Trust to help shape a new green finance team, where she leads on our engagement with asset managers and asset owners and has become a recognised expert on portfolio footprinting, science-based targets and ESG and impact investing. Before joining the Carbon Trust, Thora worked in the financial sector as research analyst, treasury funding manager, relationship manager and on researching and structuring funds for institutional investors. Thora is also experienced at representing institutions in the media. As a government economist, with HMRC/HMT and the OBR (which is the UK´s independent fiscal watchdog) Thora led policy and research projects, often across teams and departments, presenting to senior officials and ministers as well as representing the UK abroad, e.g. at the OECD and in Brussels.
Lau Xin Yi
Green Finance Lead, South East Asia @The Carbon Trust
Xin Yi is Green Finance Lead, Southeast Asia at the Carbon Trust. Her role includes working closely with financial institutions and corporates on green and sustainable financial products, delivering capacity building and advising financial players on the adoption of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations. Xin Yi previously spent five years at a leading independent think tank, the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA), as a Senior Policy Research Analyst (Sustainability). Prior to this, Xin Yi worked at Sustainalytics where she evaluated and benchmarked the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices of public-listed companies.
Nan Zhang
Senior Associate, China @The Carbon Trust
Nan Zhang has over 7 years of experience in climate change and low carbon development advisory. Her experience and expertise mainly focus on corporate sustainability, carbon footprinting, target setting, renewable energy policy, and low carbon city development. Nan has worked with clients from a wide range of industries including manufacturing, information technology, consumer goods, and financial services. Before joining the Carbon Trust, Nan worked for WWF-China, focusing on the climate and energy related policy research and south-south renewable energy cooperation. Nan holds a MSc in Environmental Science from Peking University and a bachelor’s degree from Nankai University.
Lijian Zhao
Director, China @The Carbon Trust
Serving as China Country Director for the Carbon Trust, Lijian manages Carbon Trust’s China office and oversee all of its activities in China, including business low carbon consulting, green finance, green technology acceleration and investment, climate and clean energy policies, etc. Lijian joined Carbon Trust from the Energy Foundation China, where he was the Director of the Environmental Management Program. At the Energy Foundation, he managed a portfolio of grants to support China in improving the environmental regulatory system, fighting against air pollution and achieving co-control of air pollution and carbon emissions. Lijian also worked as a Consultant/Auditor at Sinosphere, performing supply chain CSR audits for multi-national corporations.
