Climate Risk Management for Financial Institutions
IFC and the HKMA have launched the Alliance to help financial institutions develop the solutions necessary to address climate change across emerging markets since November 2020. The Alliance has designed a series of training to share knowledge and build capacity on a variety of topics that aims to equip participants with basic knowledge of sustainability – focusing on green banking, provide valuable lessons learned, and share best practices amongst Asia’s green banks.

Following previous training session on Climate Risk from Regulatory Perspectives on August 31, this session will address the most often asked questions from commercial banks - how to integrate climate risk management into their business, and whether there is a global standard to measure climate risk for financial institutions.

During this training, experts from IFC, global standard makers and leading commercial banks in this area will share their expertise and experience on how to measure financial portfolio’s alignment with the Paris Agreement, and how banks can contribute to the urgent challenge of climate change.

• Overview of the Key Pillars for Climate Risk Management
• Introduction of PCAF Standard for Measuring Financed Emissions
• Introduction of The Paris Agreement Capital Transition Assessment (PACTA)
