Nothing About Us Without Us - Disability Mantra

01:13:10
Congratulations to all the team for the report. Looking forward to seeing how this work can kickstart more important research on this issue, and policy change. Completely agree with the idea of bringing in new people to the conversation. Julia McGeown, Humanity & Inclusion.

01:15:22
“Massive - small” is a term we stole from the manufacturing sector. The idea that instead of scaling a single product, better to scale the opportunity for relevant, specific products to be developed in context. Initiatives we suggest in the report include incentivising innovation, novel funding mechanisms, enabling environment.

01:15:28
Thanks for the questions all, if you don't mind asking them in the Q&A box so we can try to respond do them there.

Please find the survey report that Charlotte just mentioned: https://www.inclusive-education-initiative.org/sites/iei/files/2021-09/Inclusive Education Initiative %28IEI%29 Survey Report_09152021.pdf

01:17:52
Thank Anna for sharing the survey can not be found on the link you just shared

01:19:32
I opened it say link not found

01:19:50
@Anna Hata, that is a very important question, and yes the report offers some definitions and also acknowledges the different understandings of the terminologies

01:20:04
Sorry for that, let me try to correct that

01:21:28
Thanks, Lucy!

I have a question regarding the current situation of education of children with disabilities in Afghanistan. Is there any road map set up by the world bank for the education of children with disabilities in Afghanistan in post August 15th withdrawal context.

01:29:11
Victoria Austin, I have found your comment that that you value and consult people with disability interesting, but my experience expresses otherwise! Ask your seniour teams at GDI about me, if you wish. Abdifatah Dhuhulow

01:33:59
Thanks for sharing that Christine. I think Rwanda and REB is a great example of what can be done, especially your focus on the development of accessible digital textbooks ( with audio and sign language overlays).

01:36:29
@Abdifatah, GDI is diverse in leadership, teams, governance and participation. But you know what, no-one gets it right all the time and we are also keen to keep learning so drop me a line if you want to talk more victoria.austin@UCL.ac.uk

@Muhammad thanks for your question. Please see attached the World Bank’s Guidance Note and four criteria for supporting disability inclusive education operations across countries.
